Origen y evolución del puesto de encargado de archivo en Costa Rica

Abstract

El artículo analiza el origen y la evolución del nombramiento del encargado de los archivos en Costa Rica. Inicia el estudio en 1660 cuando se crea el primer archivo en el país y, por ende, se le asigna su responsabilidad a tres funcionarios públicos: Alcalde Ordinario, Alférez Mayor y Escribano. El texto finaliza en 1978 con la designación del Archivista como el responsable de los archivos contemporáneos.

ABSTRACT
This article analyzes the origin and evolution of the designation of the person in charge of the archives in Costa Rica. The study is started in 1660, when it is created the first archive in the country; then the responsibility is designated to three public officials, they were the ordinary mayor, the ensign and the notary. The text is finished in 1978 with the designation of an Archivist as responsible of the contemporary archives.
